From February 2005:
The BFC have received a
letter from Pearl Heenan.
Pearl was inspired to write to us after she
read one of the Bendigo Folk Club publicity pieces in the Bendigo press.
The letter gives a great insight into the Bendigo music scene of the past
and especially the earlier Bendigo folk venues and contributors. The letter
was addressed to our Vice President, Elisha Davis and has been reproduced
here with Pearl's kind permission.
From January 2005:
BFC member Simon Dillon spent 6 days in early January attending the Lake
School of Celtic Music, Song and Dance in Koroit. This sound like a great
event for those with a thirst for knowledge and skills. Check out his
report
From April 2005:

Here we see the smiling faces of the members who voted to incorporate the
Bendigo Folk Club, bend it your way, in the State of Victoria.
At this meeting our model rules were agreed upon. We nominated a Public
Officer and a Committee to see us through until our first AGM in September.
The Committee consists of: Mark Jackson (Prez); Jessica Moloney (Sec); Elisha
Davis (Vice Prez); Michael Hockley (Trez); Graeme Borrell (Public Officer);
Dave Moloney (Membership); Geoff Byron (e-news & web site).
From June 2005:
Last year's ABC Radio Fresh Air competition generated over 650 entries
across Australia. Twelve tracks have been chosen for national airplay on
ABC Local Radio, Radio National and dig (the ABC's internet radio).
Incredibly Bendigo artists managed to fill 3 of the 12 tracks selected ...
and what is more BFC members figure prominently in the list. Our very own
Aaron Wales was selected with his song "Take Me, I'm Yours". The
local band without a genre, voicepopfoible, who performed for us in the
cellar in April, were also selected for their song "Pow Kazam".
BFC President Mark Jackson and Aaron Wales are known to have close associations
with this band. Finally Jamie Roberts song "T-Shirt" was also
selected. It's high time we had Jamie along to perform.
July 2005 saw the Club relocate to the Park View Hotel.
The message seemed to get around that the corner of View and High Streets
was the location to head for on the 3rd Friday of July as we had a good
audience turn out.
Many enjoyed the magnificent tasting (but reasonably priced) food. The acoustics
were good and the atmosphere great.
